Black Cherry Jam
'Tis the season for jams and jellies. All sorts of berries are filling up the grocery stores just asking to be bought and turned into a sweet and sticking treat.
Black Cherry Jam Recipe:
2 cups Black Cherries, pitted and cut in half
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Almond Extract
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla-bean Paste or Extract
- Combine sugar and sliced cherries in a medium size saucepan and cook on medium heat
- Squish cherries as you stir
- Once boiling, turn down the heat and continue cooking at a simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
- When your jam has thickened and the liquid has reduced by half, add in the almond and vanilla extract
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to glass jam jar
No one can resist this Jam!
