 Millionaire Bars 


 


 Preheat oven to 350* bake 20 mins

Line 9x13 baking pan 

Crust

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 16 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  1.  stir together dry indigents
  2.  melt butter
  3. mix melted butter into dry to create a dough 
  4. press dough into pan
  5. bake 20 mins
  6. Start cooking Caramel Filling when timer reaches 16 mins

Caramel Filling (cook to Temp 350)

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. combine all ingredients in a large saucepan
  2. turn burner on high and stir continuously 
  3. when 7-5 minutes is left insert candy thermometer 
  4. continue to cook and stir until temp reaches 350*
  5. crust should be coming out of the oven and immediately pour caramel on top
  6. let cool completely for 1-2 hours in fridge

Chocolate

  • 8 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
  1. melt chocolate, (1000 watt microwave)
  2. 2 min 50 sec power 5
  3. stir
  4. 1 min 50 sec power 5
  5. done, stir until smooth
  6. spread over caramel
  7. let harden in fridge
  8. cut bars
