Millionaire Bars
Preheat oven to 350* bake 20 mins
Line 9x13 baking pan
Crust
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 16 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- stir together dry indigents
- melt butter
- mix melted butter into dry to create a dough
- press dough into pan
- bake 20 mins
- Start cooking Caramel Filling when timer reaches 16 mins
Caramel Filling (cook to Temp 350)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- combine all ingredients in a large saucepan
- turn burner on high and stir continuously
- when 7-5 minutes is left insert candy thermometer
- continue to cook and stir until temp reaches 350*
- crust should be coming out of the oven and immediately pour caramel on top
- let cool completely for 1-2 hours in fridge
Chocolate
- 8 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
- melt chocolate, (1000 watt microwave)
- 2 min 50 sec power 5
- stir
- 1 min 50 sec power 5
- done, stir until smooth
- spread over caramel
- let harden in fridge
- cut bars
