Monica Conquers Buttercream!

A while back I (Morgan) taught Monica how to whip up some Swiss Meringue Buttercream.  As we made it together, I could tell she was not convinced that she could do it all on her own for quite some time.  Just this past week she had to face her fear!  Monica was asked to make a baby shower cake and she decided she would do it all on her own.

I received these pictures at 10:30 p.m on the night she decided to face he fear.

 She did it!  She said it was like taking the training wheels off, but I think she rode like a champ!

Once she finished that, it was on to the decorations.  She melted some chocolate and used it to pipe out the words on the cake, "Aaron, you are the father".  It is a Star Wars cake!

After that cooled, she was then ready to assemble the cake.  Here is her final project!

 

I am so proud of her!  This was her first decorated cake made from scratch that she did all on her own.  What do you think?
