Upside-down Citrus Cake
350* 9 inch Cake pan
Brown sugar topping
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 c butter
- 2 skinned and sliced oranges
1. Sprinkle brown sugar around the bottom of your 9 inch cake pan.
2. Dot with butter.
3. Melt in the oven for 5-10 minutes
4. Lay orange slices in a decorative design
Citrus cake
- 2/3 c butter
- 1 c sugar
- zest of 2 oranges
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 c room temp. milk
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
1. Cream butter, sugar, orange zest and vanilla together in a bowl until light and fluffy.
2. Mix in eggs and beat until fully incorporated.
4. Fold in the dry ingredients, along with the milk, in two stages. 1/2 at a time
5. Once the batter is smooth, pour ontop of the oranges in the prepared cake pan, spread evenly and bake until springy and golden brown
6. IMMEDIATELY flip cake onto a plate and enjoy!
